Project #1: Elements and Principles Slideshow and Reflections

Hi everyone. This is my slideshow presentation. At the bottom of this post is my quick reflection on this project. Enjoy! Reflections All of the pictures in this project were taken by me. Some of the photos were taken recently but most of them are photos that I had stored in my digital camera from past vacations and trips. The picture titled "Lines" was painted by me for this project. The oldest picture that I used for this project is "emphasis." It depicts the space shuttle being taken to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in NYC. I used tools like Windows Live Photo Gallery in some images to edit their lighting and effects. One of the photos which I edited to make it fit its element was "Value." I made the picture a bit darker to add more shadows and contrast. Overall the project was very simple and fun. It only took me about 2 hours to go through all my photos, create a photobucket account and post this blog.

  1. Every one of your pictures I can tell which element or principle it was referring to without looking at the label. Awesome pictures. My two favorites I would have to say were the balance picture and the color picture. The way the sand and water blend together in such a balance of perfection is beautiful! Wouldn’t mind seeing some of this instead of the snow. Your picture on color is also beautiful! I love Christmas tree lights! They are beautiful! I sometimes just sit in front of my Christmas tree with all the lights in the house off except the tree and enjoy the simplistic beauty of it. Beautiful choices all around!

  2. I really liked that you used your own photos from various points in time. It gave a very personal touch to your project that made it feel not rushed, well thought out, and not forced. My favorite photos were the images you used for pattern and balance. The glass work in the pattern photo was so beautiful and the way the light reflected through it made it a very unique choice as well. The balance photo was very serene but was also a perfect example of that element. I could tell exactly what each of your elements represented by the photo you chose to use. I also liked that you used such a variety of photographs. Very nicely done!
